Conversational Theology

Archive for the ‘geography’ Category

One of the more ridiculous questions I’ve been asked in America, after telling someone I’m English, is ‘What part of Ireland are you from?’ Hopefully this diagram will help to settle some of that confusion:

The two sovereign states are marked in red:the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
The two islands are marked in green: Ireland and Great Britain. (Actually, there are numerous other small islands, too.)
The countries that make up Great Britain and Northern Ireland are marked in orange: Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Easy, isn’t it?

(ETA: I should have made it clearer that the diagram isn’t mine.  Click to see the original website with lots of other useful information.)

Conversational theology:

the art of learning deep truths about God and man in the company of friends, whilst drinking tea and eating cake.
